(April 12, 2019) During the Komen “More Than Pink Walk” this Saturday on the Boardwalk, Blushing Beauty Boutique owner Marge Calvello will be selling “Breast Friend,” a breast cancer support cushion in the Celebration Village.

Calvello first came up with the idea of the product several years ago, after undergoing several breast surgeries.

“I’ve always loved it at the beach here and I hate digging,” Calvello said. “I hate lying on my belly. I’m like, ‘There’s got to be something out there that you lay on your belly with.’”

So Calvello created the Breast Friend, a breast-shaped cushion with two six-inch pockets which makes it easier to lay on flat surfaces. The product also has a side strap to make it more convenient when traveling.

The regular Breast Friend comes in 29 different patterns. Calvello also created a therapeutic Breast Friend which comes with a heating and cooling pad placed inside the pouches. This Breast Friend product also comes with two secure straps, one for the neck and one for the back to help keep the therapy packs in place.

Calvello is “excited” and looking forward to Saturday’s walk.

“I’ve just been touched so much with cancer in my family and my friends and my late husband,” Calvello said. “I have a couple of girlfriends that are survivors.”

Calvello will be selling her Breast Friend cushions during the Komen “More Than Pink” Walk and will be giving away a pink polka dot therapeutic Breast Friend to one lucky winner.

Breast Friends cost $29.99, and Therapeutic Breast Friends cost $39.99. Heating and cooling pads can be purchased for an additional $10.
