(Oct. 8, 2021) The Bearded Men’s Society of Ocean City will host its fourth annual Beards at the Beach competition at Seacrets on 49th Street, this Saturday.

Registration begins at noon, with the first contest category starting at 1 p.m.

The event will also be streamed live on Twitch. Those unable to attend can submit two photos and a 15-second video for any category, or categories, they would like to enter. Send photos and videos to bmsofoc@gmail.com.

There will be 11 categories: full beard natural under 4 inches, full beard natural under 8 inches, full beard natural under 12 inches, full beard natural over 12 inches, chops, general goatee, styled mustache, whiskerina, freestyle, Alaskan Whaler/Donegal, and natural full beard with styled mustache.

The cost is $20 for the first beard category and $5 for each additional entry.

Judges will choose the top three in each category from both in-person and submitted online entries. Winners will receive a trophy and $10 gift card to Pit n Pub.

There will also be a 50/50 raffle during the event and vendors set up featuring products such as beard balms and oils.

There is no cost to attend, but donations will be accepted. All proceeds will go to Diakonia in West Ocean City, which provides emergency housing, food services, counseling and assistance for its guests; and the local chapter of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
