Ocean City Police on scene Monday morning at the Sea Bay Hotel on 60th Street. Officers and other authorities were called to investigate a death.

The chief medical examiner determined this week that a 42-year-old man who was found outside of a hotel on 60th Street died from injuries sustained from a fall, though the cause remains to be undetermined, according to Ocean City Police.

Police were alerted to an unconscious man outside of the Sea Bay Hotel on 60th Street by a citizen on Sept. 20, and when Ocean City paramedics arrived on the scene, they pronounced the man dead.

The body was transported to the chief medical examiner’s office in Baltimore for an autopsy.

“The investigation into the unattended death that occurred on Sept. 20 is still open,” Deputy Communications Manager Ashley Miller said on Monday. “The medical examiner ruled the manner of death ‘multiple injuries from a fall’ and the cause of death ‘undetermined.’ At this time the fall does not appear to be criminal in nature."

No other details about the investigation were provided.
