After being cancelled in 2020, Springfest, pictured here in 2019, was approved for May 2021 during the Ocean City Council meeting on Monday.

(Jan. 8, 2021) Ocean City’s spring calendar is filling quickly, as the Ocean City Council approved a number of events for this May during its meeting on Monday.

Topping the list are the OC Power Boat Races scheduled on May 2 from noon to 5 p.m. in the ocean between N. Division Street and 12th Street.

The first race would be at noon, with the second taking place at 3 p.m.

Following the power boat races on Sunday, and only one day after Cinco de Mayo, Ocean City’s annual Springfest will take place from May 6-9.

After closing out Springfest on Mother’s Day, the Wine on the Beach event is tentatively slated from May 14-15.

The Beach Volleyball Series will fill the sands between Talbot Street and N. Division Street starting on Thu. May 20 through May 23.

The volleyball event is the first of seven comparable competitions produced by We Build You Play Sports, with subsequent dates including: June 12-13, June 24, July 15, July 29, Sept. 11-12 and Sept. 25-26.

Bringing a slightly larger event footprint, Cruisin’ Ocean City will also be held from May 20-23 throughout the resort.
