(May 3, 2019) A 35-year-old male pedestrian struck by a vehicle on 28th Street and Philadelphia Avenue on Sunday was said to have only received minor injuries, according to Maryland State Police.

Town of Ocean City Communications Manager Jessica Waters said the pedestrian was running east from Sunset Drive into the southbound lanes of Philadelphia Avenue at about 5:07 p.m.

“According to witnesses, the pedestrian ran into the path of a pickup truck that had little time to react,” Waters said.

She said the pedestrian was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury “with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.”

The driver was not cited, but Waters said charges could be forthcoming for the pedestrian.
