Kathleen Mary Verhey, at age 60, went to be with God, and at long last her brother, Johnny, on Thursday, May 7, 2020, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Maryland.
Born in Westwood New Jersey, she was the daughter of Veronica Weinheimer and the late Francis Weinheimer, but she will always be remembered as our mother and our Noni.
She is survived by her loving husband of 12 years, Arthur Verhey, and her children, Melinda, Richie, Teresa and Tommy, as well as their spouses, Brendan and Mark.
She is also survived by her stepchildren, Zach, Laurel and Cassandra, and their spouses, Annie, Cameron and Kyle.
Our Noni lives on the most, however, through her seven grandchildren, Layla, Makenna, Anthony, Victoria, Tyler, Ella and Skylar.
Her greatest love was spending time with them and helping them grow into the wonderful people they are and will continue to be.
Standing tall with her in the best and worst of times throughout her whole life too, were her siblings, TJ, Jimmy, Michael, David and Barbara, along with her in-laws, Ann and Kelly, and her nieces and nephews that were all like her children to her.
Mom worked for the United States Postal Service for decades and wore her profession like a badge of honor. Some of our best memories are of her coming home in that blue postal polo.
She enjoyed the ocean and walking on the Boardwalk, fulfilling her lifelong dream of living in her beloved Ocean City by the water.
Missed almost as much as her, is Noni’s cooking as well. You knew you were family if she ever made you poor-man’s pie.
Kathy’s biggest legacy, other than her family, was her endless charity work, always helping others when she could.
She was a proud participant of meals on wheels and D.A.R. Her kindness and giving knew no ends, just like her love.
No formal services are planned at this time, because Noni will be having a celebration of life once the weather is a little warmer, and the world is a little calmer. When the time comes, all of our family and friends are welcome, and all of you will be Irish on that day.
Letters of condolence may be sent via: www.burbagefuneralhome.com. Arrangements are in the care of the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin, who we thank immensely for helping us through these hard times.
We love you mom, we love you Noni. Our angel finally has her wings
