Melissa Beth Maiolo Betts, age 61, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Maryland. Born in Passaic, New Jersey, she was the daughter of John Maiolo and the late Geraldine Maiolo.

She is survived by her husband, David Betts; daughter, Chelsea Cooke; son, Marshall Betts; sister, Camilla Heffernan; brother, Alan Maiolo; grandchildren, Caroline and Connor Cooke, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Melissa attended Riverdell Regional High School in New Jersey.

After moving to Ocean Pines in 1997, she worked as a medical billing coder for Atlantic General Hospital for over 20 years.

Melissa enjoyed spending time with her AGH family, summer weekends at the beach, and being with her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, amazing grandmother, and everyone’s best friend.

She will be missed deeply by her family, countless friends, and her AGH family.

Cremation followed her death. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are in the care of the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin, Maryland.
