Richard Everett Scammon, age 89, of Ocean Pines, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Richard was born in Bronx, New York and was the son of the late Roscos and Margaret (Valenti) Scammon.

He retired from the Department of Defense as an Army map printing press operator. Mr. Scammon also served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He is survived by a son, Michael G. Scammon of Ocean Pines; a daughter, Margaret (Peggy) M. Anderson and husband, Raymond, of Centerville, Virginia; and a granddaughter, Rachel Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris C. Scammon, in 1989.

Services will be private at a later date.
