Winifred J. Riley, age 87, passed away Friday, June 5, 2020.

Born in New York on Dec. 1, 1932, she was the wife of the late George Edward Riley Sr. and the daughter of the late Josephine Larson Krutz.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Marie Bishop; sister, Carol Lankford; and grandchildren, Danny Riley, John Whitlock III, Tony Whitlock (Brandy), Kimberly Scott (Jake), J.C. Wimbrow (Amanda), Leigh Ann Adams (Joe), Lisa Butler (Terry) and Will Bishop; along with a special son-in-law, Jay Wimbrow.

She had many great-grandchildren that brought her much joy and happiness along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is predeceased by her daughters, Patsy E. Whitlock and Barbara A. Wimbrow; son, George E. Riley Jr.; brother, Earl J. Krutz; a sister, Vivian Bounds; and grandson, Lee Bishop.

She had various jobs during her life, sometimes even two or three at a time.

Riley Farm was her life, sitting on her front porch with her cat (Kitty) and listening to music and dancing back at deer camp.

She enjoyed shopping, camping and pool days getting her tan on. She spent many years living on Chincoteague Island running her produce stand.

She will be sadly missed by all the lives she touched.

A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, June 13, 2020, at her residence on Riley Farm. Interment will be held at a later date for immediate family at Bowen Cemetery in Newark, Maryland.
