Letter to the Editor

printed 09/17/2021

Hundreds of things contribute to the quality of life in Ocean City, but an unsung item is the “little libraries” located around town. Created by volunteers, filled with books people donate, they offer books totally free. It’s a boon to residents and tourist alike.

Our grandchildren love them — and the libraries have nourished their love of reading. So they wrote a poem to thank everyone who keeps the libraries working.

We love our little library,

with books big and small.

And we all have decided

It’s the best deal of all.

We love to go and borrow.

Bringing back some of our books tomorrow.

If it ever went away,

it would be our sorrow.

Thank you, little library,

For everything you share.

We want you to know

That we all care.

Kermit and Donna Karpenko Netteburg, for our grandchildren Lauryn (13), Andrew (11), and Leah (15)
