ANNAPOLIS — Traffic on two Maryland bridges stopped temporarily Thursday morning as the cargo ship carrying four new container cranes finished its journey up the Chesapeake Bay to the Port of Baltimore.
BALTIMORE — The Maryland Transportation Authority will temporarily hold traffic in both directions on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge (US 50/301) and Francis Scott Key Bridge (I-695) on Thursday, Sept. 9, during passage of marine vessels carrying four large cranes. Traffic holds will be used for safety purposes to ensure that drivers are not distracted crossing these bridges during the cranes’ passage beneath the structures. Traffic holds are anticipated to last for approximately 15 to 30 minutes.
