(Oct. 8, 2021) The Stephen Decatur boys’ soccer team outscored the North Caroline Bulldogs, 4-0, on Wednesday in Ridgely, Maryland.

“I was happy with the way we played,” said Coach Jamie Greenwood. “I thought we moved the ball well, and we put the ball in the net when we had the chances.”

Sophomore Brogan Eastlack scored about 15 minutes into the game. Senior captain James Barrett netted two shots before the half.

Senior captain Miguel Cervantes tallied Decatur’s fourth goal four minutes into the second half.

Junior Owen Knerr recorded 12 saves in 68 minutes in goal for Decatur. Junior Nick Purnell stopped three North Caroline shots in the final 12 minutes.

Decatur will host the Pocomoke Warriors on Monday and the Washington Jaguars on Tuesday in Berlin. Both games are scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
