(Oct. 26 2018) The Stephen Decatur field hockey team’s season came to an end on Tuesday, with a 6-0 loss to the No. 4 Easton Warriors in the 2A South Region Section II first round.

The fifth-seeded Lady Seahawks finished the season with a 1-12 record.

“The girls never gave up. They love the sport and always want to give it their all,” Decatur Coach Amy Matthews said.

The team will lose only one player to graduation – senior captain Lily Figgs.

“She is a huge contributor to the team and will be missed,” Matthews said. “They will know each other’s strengths and weaknesses [next season] very well, so hopefully we can work on those and improve as a team.”
