(Oct. 15, 2021) The Stephen Decatur volleyball team logged two more Bayside South Conference victories this week.

The Lady Seahawks hosted the James M. Bennett Clippers on Tuesday and won, 25-16, 25-19 and 25-22.

“Our serving was much better this game,” said Decatur Coach Sara Patrick. “We focused on coverage and maintaining control of the ball. We made some silly mistakes, but in the end the team played really well.”

Senior captain Emma Johnson had 15 aces, two kills, eight assists and eight digs.

Junior Taya Price chipped in with four kills and four blocks. Junior Sydney Patrick contributed with four aces, seven kills and two digs.

The Pocomoke Warriors came to Berlin on Wednesday, Decatur’s Senior Night. The Seahawks outscored their opponent, 25-5, 25-3 and 25-7.

“[It] was our last home game of the season and our senior night,” Patrick said. “The team did a great job controlling the game and honoring the seniors. It was a great night for Decatur volleyball.”

Johnson had 12 aces, seven assists and a dig. Senior Abby Greenwood added seven aces, two assists and two digs. Senior Molli Spicer chipped in with 15 aces and an assist.

Decatur’s next game is Thursday at 5 p.m. in Easton against the Warriors.
