(Oct. 15, 2021) The Worcester Prep golf team shot its lowest score of the season on Wednesday, as the Mallards now prepare for next week’s Eastern Shore Independent Athletic Conference championship.

The Prep squad tallied a 162 on Wednesday at Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville.

Freshman Michael DePalma shot a 38 and earned medalist honors. Also contributing to the win was sophomore Vanesska Hall (39), junior Harrison Humes (42) and freshman Owen West (43). Gunston came in second place with a 188. Salisbury took third, scoring a 218.

“We played well. Their drives were very good,” said Prep Coach Don McMullen.

The three schools will battle for the ESIAC championship beginning at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at GlenRiddle Golf Club – Worcester’s home course – in Berlin.

To be successful, McMullen said “staying focused and continuing their good course management,” will be key for the Mallards.
