(Oct. 8, 2021) The Worcester Prep golf team earned its lowest score of the season and a victory on Wednesday at Nutters Crossing in Salisbury.

Worcester’s foursome tallied a 164 in the win. Gunston finished in second place with a 182 and Salisbury School came in third with a 220.

Freshman Michael DePalma and sophomore Vanesska Hall both shot 37s to take home medalist honors. Junior Harrison Humes chipped in with a 43 and junior Griffin Jones contributed with a 47.

“They played very well. Low team score for the year [and] Michael and Vanesska were only 1 over par for nine holes,” said Prep Coach Don McMullen. “They are playing well. Their course management continues to improve. Good drives, and chipping and putting have improved.”

Worcester’s last match of the regular season is Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Prospect Bay in Grasonville.

The Eastern Shore Independent Athletic Conference championship is scheduled for Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. on Worcester’s home course at GlenRiddle in Berlin.
